World Architecture Festival is one of the most important events for all professional architects all around the planet. Contest participants from 40 countries present their architecture design projects to the jury with hope to be among the best of the best. This year, much attention was paid to environmental and functional buildings. So what are they architecture design buildings of the future?

Best in education future project, Hanoi Vietnam

Here  everything is thought out in order to save resources and energy. This architecture design allows the buildeing to receive plenty of sunlight reducing the need for artificial lighting. Trees in each window trap the heat in the room. Moreover, there is no need in air conditioners: The building is provided with cross ventilation.

This building is intended for cultural and educational work among the local population. Initially it was in a form of a perfect circle. But after local residents interviews there have been added several rooms with different functions, and the initial outline of the building has changed. Prize in “Objects of culture.”

In Ho Chi Minh City only 0.25% of the area of the whole city is covered with greenery, so the air is very polluted. Because of the high density of population  areas for green space are not provided. This house is an attempt to solve the problem. Prize in “Best House”.

One of the major Swedish medical schools lacked a spacious auditorium where one could hold a lecture to a large number of students. Now there will be enough space for all students and conferences. Prize in “Higher education and research.”
