Green depot eco friendly lightbulb design showcases the benefits of sustainable package designs.
Using the corrugated packing card-board scrap and a simple, interlocking design – the Green depot light bulb casing aims to reduce plastic waste, or thermoplastic cushioning for packages. The idea is to get rid of any material waste which truly doesn’t contribute towards packing excellence. The protective casing is provided by a wrapping card-board and a beautiful clean incision to twist and lock.
The simplicity of the design is amply conveyed by a flat, black type-font and a logo design which spins off the tungsten filament into the wattage visual. It is remarkably simple, highlights the electrical details, ratings and sourcing information that users care about, cutting out the unnecessary information.
Designer Hyunseo Yoo takes the 3R approach: Reduce, Remove, and Recycle. The light bulb screwing cap is attached to a piece of thick cardboard which slides in to both provide support and give shape to the casing of corrugated packing paper. Located in 222 Bowery, New York – Green Depot takes another step forward with environmentally conscious designs.
