Early popularity for the nutcracker toys came in 15th century Germany where imposing figurines of soldiers, knights or kings gave these decorative pieces a guardian-like property. They quickly became a’must have’ in every mantelpiece. Design agency Robot Food insist that they simply took the favorite seasonal theme and infused it with their brand identity to give it a contemporary spin.

The results were spectacular. Bright red and golden, ten inch tall Robot figurines make for beautiful toys which are anything but ‘old school’. The modern touch doesn’t get frivolous – the package is done in beautiful black and golden tactile wrapping material – making it look suitably limited-edition and sophisticated. Only 50 boxes were sent out to select customers making it a cherished gift for the season.
