Dropcam premium video camera package design refreshes the brnad identity and packaging of the premium Wi-Fi video monitoring company from San Francisco.
With an 8x zoom, activity alerts (via email and SMS), two-way talk radio and night vision plus ability to review nearly 30 days of encrypted video capture via tablets, mobile or even desktops – the Dropcam pro services boast of an impressive feature-set. The idea was for the package to convey the same level of quality.
Character from SFO, teamed up with prop stylist Glenn Jenkins and photographer Todd Tankersley to create a package which incorporated plenty of cool blue to bring a degree of freshness. At the same time the box was re-designed to ensure the footprint was lower and the installation instructions were clearly outlined for first time users. The visual association had an instant impact on the shelf-identity as well with product packaging and boxing companies.
Character also built the in-store retail concepts which Dropcam’s teams pitched to other retailers and clients. The structural and visual decor of the box was made to guide the users through the unboxing and how best to leverage the product characteristics.
