The Pigeon quirky food package design turns the idea of a peaceful meal on its head, with it’s uniquely obsessive visual patterns.
Essentially, ‘The Pigeon’ is just another food truck. However, the quality brims with care and passionate food making, which beats the established pizza chains and neighborhood coffee franchises by some margin. Now, Sydney Goldstein has added another angle to their product marketing – their latest graphic design, branding and packaging overhaul.
The concept itself is not so much unique as it is daring, both in its simplicity and in-your-face aspect. Each food item is clearly written out in words, but the traditional marketing gibberish is traded for simple monochrome patterns which make it obvious what to expect. At the same time, the lack of too many colors keeps it easy to identify and helps the product stand out in a crowded market space.
Note the little ‘eye test’ pattern on the beer, or pizza-slice pattern in which the words spell out the purpose of the box ‘take-out’. Sometimes, simple amuses you more than complex!
